You Haven’t Done Yoga Until You’ve Done Iyengar Yoga
Iyengar Yoga is the name given to the yoga methodology developed by Mr. B.K.S. Iyengar. Mr. Iyengar is a vibrant 91 year-old man who, after nearly 75 years of practice, has been called “the world’s greatest living yoga master,” and “the Michelangelo of yoga.” Mr. Iyengar is the only yoga teacher to be named as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine. Millions worldwide practice his teachings, including such well-known figures as Martha Stewart, Alanis Morissette, and Annette Bening. He is also the teacher of teachers, having guided many well-known American yoga teachers in the course of their careers.
Our 90-minute classes provide a first-hand experience the power of this yoga method. All participants will have an opportunity to register for an ongoing Iyengar Yoga course designed to create vibrant health and lasting mental peace. Grow Your Yoga Practice this Spring:
Our upcoming Spring session of yoga begins April 12. With the Springtime vitality in the air, this is a perfect time to make your practice bloom! This 11-Week session of classes is divided into 3 distinct levels to enable us to guide both newcomers and advanced students alike through a clear, systematic progression of lessons designed to promote strength, flexibility, concentration, endurance and, most importantly, an unshakable sense of well-being and joy. For deeper explorations and transformation, the session features several special, 2-hour “Target Classes” focusing on topics both practical and esoteric, with subjects ranging from protecting and vitalizing important areas of the body (such as the low back or the knees), to exploring the rich insights and guidance toward a fruitful and prosperous life contained in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Join us for our first Target class: “Save the Planet with Yoga” on April 28 at 6 p.m.
